She awakened to the cool breath of morning on her face, the light of dawn streaming in radiant beams through the open window. She yawned, fighting with her urge to get resume sleeping or face the day. Unfortunately, the latter was chosen.

Elphaba sighed softly as she kicked off her sheets, and gently proceeded to stand up, swaying with lack of sleep. Dreams had kept her up most of the night and the constant threat of the day to come. Classes would be starting.

Shifting, the olive skinned girl let her eyes wonder over her school bag, dreading the weight of the books that were to be stuffed in it all day. Elphaba shook her head gently, beginning to pack her much needed supplies of quills and parchment. It wasn't until her things were neatly packed did she turn upon herself.

Briskly she entered the bathroom, not bothering with her long tendrils of raven hair, and instead brushed through it to fix it around her shoulders. Carefully she slipped into the regular school attire, fitting her tie snuggly around her neck and rolling her eyes at the awkwardness of it all. Honestly, who had come up with these uniforms?

The girl sighed gently, taking one last look in the mirror before dashing out the door, backpack slung over her shoulder.

The emerald skinned girl avoided the glances that were thrown at her, shaking her head at their childish gawking. Hadn't they seen odder things in Hogwarts? Turning her back to them, Elphaba continued out of the portrait, looking back to see the Fat Lady watching herself adoringly in a small mirror.

'She's another version of Galinda,' thought Fabala, a rare smile flitting across her lips at the thought of the girl. It faded; however, when two boys went careening down the hall, not seeing her and skidding to a hal a little too late.

They went flying, tumbling across the granite floor before landing in a heap of limbs and groans. One boy, the tallest, swore heatedly, rubbing his porcelain cheek which had collided with Elphaba's boot.

"Prongs, you idiot," He mumbled, flicking the messy haired boy sprawled beside him. The boy in question fixed his glasses back on his nose, which had flown off during their little tumble.

"How was I supposed to know she was around the corner? Remus was the one in front."

The brunette who had been surveying the whole situation rather amusedly, held out his hand to the thin girl, smiling. "Terribly sorry about that. They're a handful sometimes."

Elphaba shook her head lightly, not wanting to be rude as she let him pull her up. His grip was strong for someoen so frail looking, scars running from cheek bone to jaw, forearm to fingertip.

"It's not a problem," She managed softly, glancing into his eyes for the first time. They were a soft amber, honey reflecting the soft light filtering in through the stained glass window.

Sirius elbowed James lightly who nodded with a small grin. "And you, my dear, must be Miss Elphaba, pleased to meet you," He pointed a thumb to Sirius. "This knuckle-head is Sirius Black," Sirius bowed his head with a charming smile.

Remus sighed gently. "Aren't you clever...introducing yourself without apology."

But James continued as though the lycan hadn't spoken. "This little guy is Peter Pettigrew," He indicated the small blonde nearest Remus who gave her a tentative smile. "You're talking to Remus Lupin, and I would be the one and only James Potter," He jumped up, making a sweeping bow. "At your service, m'lady."

The raven haired girl cocked an eyebrow. "Charmed," She murmured quietly, noticing that boy (Remus was it?) still hadn't let go of her hand. Remus noticed her gaze and blushed scarlet, letting the appendage drop by her side.

"S-so, what class are you headed for?"

She smiled lightly. Ah, what fun this would be.
